Leaders in Commercial Real Estate for Maryland’s Eastern Shore and the Delmarva Peninsula

Rich Completes Maryland Woodland Stewards Training

JANUARY 2015, SALISBURY, MD Bob Rich, Land Advisor with Sperry Van Ness – Miller Commercial Real Estate successfully completed the training requirements to serve as a Maryland Woodland Steward – a natural resource program of the University of Maryland. Bob is now part of a statewide network of volunteers helping Maryland’s 157,000 private woodland owners better manage their properties through education and contacts with forestry and wildlife professionals.

Here on the Delmarva, many landowners own significant acres of woodlands and marketable timber in addition to row crop and pasture land. Significantly, many of these wooded areas also provide recreational, economic, environmental and aesthetic values to Maryland, Delaware and Virginia. “The principles of the Maryland Woodland Stewards program help landowners see and value their properties differently and, in many cases, further into the future”, said Rich.
